What is machine learning?

Machine learning is a field of computer science that deals with the identification and analysis of patterns in data. Machine learning algorithms can be used to identify patterns in data, such as relationships between variables, or to make predictions based on those relationships. Machine learning algorithms can be divided into two broad categories: supervised and unsupervised.
