Eigenvectors are non-zero vectors that only change by a scalar factor when a linear transformation is applied to them.

Eigenvalues are the corresponding scalar factors by which the eigenvectors are scaled during the transformation. They indicate how the transformation stretches or compresses space along the eigenvectors.
